Increasing Teacher Retention

By improving financial accountability, Volusia County Schools can increase teacher retention and make teachers a top priority again. Resources should be focused on classrooms, mentoring, teacher support, and positive school culture, not unnecessary spending that pulls attention away from students and educators.

Recenter on Foundational Learning

My approach is rooted in the basics. When students feel confident in reading, writing, and math—and learn in classrooms that are calm, structured, and supportive—they thrive. By keeping our focus on classroom learning rather than district-level distractions, we give teachers the tools and students the foundation they need to succeed.

A Better Conflict Resolution System

Volusia County Schools needs a conflict resolution system that places students in the right learning environment, gives administrators meaningful tools to enforce expectations, and brings real district-level support onto campuses. By replacing the rigid, ineffective discipline matrix with age-appropriate models and flexible, consistent consequences, schools can restore calm, support teachers, and improve student success.
